SUMMARY:Software for Practical Analysis of Materials: Image Based Quantifi
cation across Communities
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nEdward Andò (EPFL), Olga Stamati (ESRF), and
Emmanuel Roubin (Université Grenoble Alpes)\n\nThe software for practical
analysis for materials -- a relatively mature python project developed wit
h modern coding practices -- is rapidly becoming a standard in in the worl
d of experimental 3D mechanics as well as granular mechanics and is used i
n fields as wide as neuron-spine imaging to rock mechanics. The proposed a
lgorithms are perfectly described by being across scales, communities and
modalities, and generally fall into the category of advanced 3D image anal
ysis with a particular penchant for 3D+t and 3D multimodal data, with a fu
lly fledged DVC and registration suite. We will present examples of the co
de, insights into the development and fostering of a user community, and d
iscuss the recent interest in scaling up the code's performance for deploy
ment at several synchrotron beamlines.\n\nDomain: Computer Science, Machin
e Learning, and Applied Mathematics
\n\nSession Chair: Matthieu Simeoni (
