Biography
I am a research software developer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory working in the Environmental Genomics & Systems Biology Division on the KBase team. I completed my postdoctoral research associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Biosciences Division in the Computational and Predictive Biology group. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Iowa State University and my Masters in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

My research centers around the application of software engineering methods to systems biology. My technical areas of interest include: software testing, machine learning, systems biology, and synthetic biology. I have further interest in bioinformatics workflows and algorithms, high performance computing, and in GPU-enable workflows. My research aspirations focus on building bridges between the computational and biological sciences.
